In one way, it DOES make you wonder why people oppose comprehensive national health care...until you realize what is going on, in total.
As Olberman said, there is money (industry) (corporate) driving the issue. "The Money" keeps shit emotionally stirred up because they know people, en masse, don't think for themselves. They know that people WILL buy into that fear that our "free society" will go away when "government runs things". BULL!....Corporations run things now. MONEY. THEY don't give a shit about the people. They are NOT doing a single damned thing for any reason other than the bottom line. And when they DO stir the propaganda pot, they imply that we will become an evil "socialist state" if we install a National Health system as in Canada or Britain. They know that people will buy into some sort of fear that we will become a union of socialist states. And people will relate that to The Union Of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR)....the Big Bad Red Communist Threat.
If a socialist government is allowed to run rough-shod over the people and become dominating, it will. So will a Corporate Society... and Congress. What matters is how the people get off their butts and control WHAT they each do. And the people never seem to do what they should be doing...controlling their own society.
Socialism works quite well in some other countries, regardless of the propaganda that gets pushed against it. How well it works depends on how it is monitored... just like our government here.
But "the people" have to monitor and control it. And they do not... not sufficiently. They are, individually, either lazy or dumb or gullible and therefore will buy into dreams and bull, and not bother with analyzing and understanding what is going on...what needs to be done.
It just a fact of life with us humans.
The world is wonderful and there is so much good to have, even as it is. I am liking this thing we call corporal life. It can be so much fun. But I will NOT refrain in saying how I see it to be. Black is black and white is white. I will speak... and shrug my shoulders once in a while... and go on.
I have absolutely no problem with recieving any responses to these remarks.
